1. Get out of work later than agreed to on Tuesday (wait for mail instead of lunch). Wash - I can't really complain since I did get to leave early.
2. Sit in traffic for 30 minutes just to get into the tunnel. And listen to Mr. D go crazy yelling at the idiot in front of us (from our car, so it's not like the guy heard).
3. Make long drive to the D family house.
4. Make Thanksgiving dinner (lunch). Mr. D and I contributed home-made green bean casserole ala Alton Brown. We can't get too adventurous with the D family.
5. Mr. D smokes bacon
6. The dogs fight (Sasha, the D's dog, and brother D's dog).
7. It rains - we play some Wii.
8. We eat leftovers for dinner.
9. Wake up to biiiiiig breakfast. French toast and bacon.
10. Check in on work. Not a lot going on - good.
11. It snows. More Wii.
12. The dogs fight.
13. The D's, Mr. D and I go to the casino.
14. Mr. D and I each win $100.
15. We go home, make dinner, dogs fight.
16. Biiiig breakfast @ 9:00 am. Pancakes and sausage.
17. 11:30 - meet Mr. D's high school friend for lunch at best wing place (note small difference between breakfast and lunch).
18. Cook for Mr. D's brother's Mexican-themed birthday party. Refried beans - Win! Spanish rice - Fail! (Truly - never let me cook rice for you - Mr. D is never satisfied, and it's never quite right. I think this was close, but a bit mushy).
19. Watch football.
20. Eat huge breakfast - eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast.
21. Drive home.

Visiting the In-Laws
How long has it been since I've blogged? Too long, but really not much new to report. Not a whole lot going on here in NYC except snow, cold, and snow and cold mixed together.
Last weekend, we headed back to M's hometown for the wedding of one of his friends from high school. The wedding was lovely, very nice. We were a bit surprised to see the bridesmaids walk down the aisle in ivory dresses, but it really worked with the bride's pale blue and ivory dress. "H" looked absolutely gorgeous. I wore an absolutely adorable dress that was a clearance find at the boutique below our old apartment. Very cute black Vera Wang for $70 (90% off), light fabric, with a plunging "v" neckline. I was a bit wary of such a dress, but it was a 6:00 ceremony, so I thought it was safe. Safe I was, as two girls upstaged me with their cleav-osity.
Before we went into town for the wedding, we spent the day and night before with my in-laws. Luckily, the weather did not disappoint them, and we were able to go snowmobiling. M's dad set up a whole trip, which involved all of us going out for an hour and a half to a nice restaurant, then dinner, then the trip back to the house. The trip was a lovely end to a day of gambling at the casino, where M and I lost, but his best friend won several hundred dollars.

Thanksgiving Plans - Men are Dumb
We're heading off this evening to drive to the wilderness of western New York, where my in-laws are located and, so far, the trip has been somewhat of a black box. For instance, I found out over the weekend that Thanksgiving day dinner will actually be at M's (the hubs) aunt and uncle's house. No big deal.
Then last night, M called his parents to let them know that we may stop halfway if we don't feel like making the entire drive (7 hours) Wednesday night. I hear him chatting with his mom, and talking about a wedding. When he gets off, I ask if his parents have a wedding to go to over the weekend. "Yeah, but we were invited too, I just kind of forgot about it," he says, as we were in the middle of packing. Of course, my thoughts turn to what I am going to wear, and he is completely useless. "I guess the women will wear dresses," which means nothing, since he's from a small town that recently hosted an episode of "My Big Fat Redneck Wedding" (may not be the actual name of the show, but you get the idea, even if you haven't seen the show). I packed as well as I could, not really having many options, but I found a gray dress that doesn't seem too inappropriate (or likely to induce freezing). Men are dumb.
